Judy Rogers


SHERBURNE – Judy A. Rogers, 67, of Sherburne, formerly of Oxford passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1943 in Oneonta, a daughter of the late Robert and Christine (Schraft) Quackenbush. On Aug. 26, 1961 she married Charles Rogers Sr. in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Norwich.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Rogers Sr. of Sherburne; her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Rogers Jr. and his wife Sandra of Sherburne, and Jonathan Q. Rogers and his wife Amy of Norwich; her grandchildren, Megan Marie Rogers, Charles Rogers III, Morgan Q. Rogers, Aidan Lee Rogers, and Breanna Christine Rogers; sisters, Sandra Shepler and husband John of Norwich, and Mary Lou Christman of Norwich; a niece and several nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Whitaker.
Judy loved her grandchildren; they were the light of her life. She looked forward to every spring to her annual trip to Myrtle Beach with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and belonged to several leagues and the New York State League of Women Bowlers. She enjoyed sports and was very active in the Booster Clubs at Oxford Academy and Central School, where her sons played and coached. She was also the founder of the Oxford Academy Chapter of S.A.D.D. in the 1980s. She and her husband also enjoyed antiques and operated Judson Creek Antiques in Oxford for many years. She was a graduate of Norwich High School. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Norwich.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Norwich with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
