NORWICH – Elinor C. Matteson, 88 years old of Norwich, passed away on Oct. 31, 2010 in Norwich.
She was born on March 14, 1922 in Laurens, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Mull) Mattice. Her childhood was spent in Laurens. On Nov. 12, 1938 she married Robert Matteson in Garrattsville. He predeceased her on Nov. 9, 1983.
Elinor is survived by her two daughters Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Cope of Waterville, and Mrs. Richard (Caroline) Call of Clifton Park. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeannette Matteson of Glenville, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and her very dear friend Joseph A. Dibble.
She was predeceased by one son Robert Matteson in 2004 and her brother, Harold A. Mattice.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Jeff Hale of the Broad Street Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
