Vincent Chrzan


NORWICH – Vincent Chrzan, 79, of Eric St., Norwich, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 7, 2006 at his home.
Born in Troy, Pa., on Oct. 14, 1927, Vincent was the son of Frank and Margaret (Hayes) Chrzan. Following his high school graduation in Troy, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. Upon returning home after his honorable discharge, Vincent enrolled in Harpur College in Binghamton, attended classes through Harpur’s consolidation with SUNY, and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Over his working years, Vincent served as accountant for several different firms, including 12 years with Coming Glass of Coming. He was treasurer and CFO for Bennett Ireland in Norwich, where he worked until they closed their doors. He then took employment as accountant for the Norwich office of Lewis Engineering, eventually moving to Connecticut to work as CFO in the home office. On Feb. 25, 1952, in Endicott, Vincent married Enna Dunbar, who predeceased him on May 7, 2006.
Vincent is survived by his children and their spouses: Bonnie and Bruce Scott of Albany, Vicki and Bob Conron of Norwich, and Tim Chrzan of Endicott; by his grandchildren: Brian Scott and wife Renee, Beth Scott; Kate, Karen, Kerry, and Korinna Conron; and by great granddaughter, Ainsley Scott. He is also survived by his sisters: Margaret Krise, Annabelle Polly, Irene Stone, Katherine Young, and Frances Chopak, all of Troy, Pa., and was predeceased by his brothers, William and Raymond Chrzan.
Mass of Resurrection for Vincent will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Church of the Holy Apostle St. Paul’s. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Vincent’s family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to the Church of the Holy Apostle St. Paul’s, 8 Silver St., Norwich, NY 13815.
