Arlene Winsor


NORWICH – Arlene Stanley Winsor of Norwich passed away on Oct. 14, 2010 at her home.
She was born on April 25, 1936 in Sidney a daughter of Charles and Nina (French) Stanley. On March 17, 1954 she married Richard Weir Winsor, who passed away on Feb. 12, 1999.
She is survived by her children, Richard Bruce Winsor and wife, Jo Ann of Guilford, Douglas Patrick Winsor of Norwich, and Christopher Mark Winsor of Oxford; her grandchildren, Rae Winsor Mamorella and husband Chris of Syracuse, Kacie Winsor of Raleigh, N.C., Aaron Winsor of Oxford, and Alyssa Winsor of Guilford; her great granddaughter, Lilly Winsor of Guilford; her brother, Charles (Bud) Stanley and wife Jane of Guilford; and her sisters, Shirley and Jerry Bates of Watertown and Francis Blackman of Guilford Center. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Richard Stanley; and by her daughter, Vicki Ruth Trinemeyer, on Nov. 28, 1999.
She stayed at home while raising her children before working at the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce, Chenango Memorial Hospital, Victory Markets and retiring from the Norwich Family YMCA, She was a cheerleader at Guilford High School and a member of the Guilford Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and knitting. She also enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, especially taking care of her roses. She loved her pet, Sadie and Katie.
Private services will be held at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, with the Rev. Ralph Hinman, retired pastor of Bible Baptist Church, Norwich officiating. Burial will be in Sidney Center Cemetery.
