NORWICH – Robert P. Mesko, 70, of Prentice St., Norwich, passed away on Oct. 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1940 in Sayre, Pa. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Gladys Mesko. On Sept. 2, 1961 in St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church, he married Cheryl McKee, who survives.
Besides his wife, Cheryl, he is survived by his sons, Wayne Mesko of Bridgewater, Kirk Mesko of Plymouth, and Robert Mesko, Jr. and wife Tina of Amsterdam; his grandchildren, Thomas Becker, Amanda Mesko, Katelynn Mesko, Desiree Mesko, Mikol Mesko, and Kaleb Mesko; and his sisters and brothers, Sheri, Bernetta, Patty, Kathy, and Michael. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated Mesko Glass Co. in Norwich for many years. He loved to go hunting and fishing. The family would like to express their thanks for the volunteers from the VFW for the many trips to the Syracuse VA Hospital and Hospice of Chenango County for their wonder care.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chenango County or Christy Rock Post VFW.
