Jesse Perugino


NORWICH – Jesse Marie Perugino, 92, formerly of Bloomfield, N.J., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at the Gilmour Health Care Facility.
 Born April 26, 1918 in Chicago Heights, Ill., Jesse was the daughter of Frank and Mary Louise (DeFrank) D’Allesandro. She went to school in Chicago Heights and worked for several years making globes in Chicago during World War II. She also worked at a radio factory there.  On Aug. 28, 1949, in Chicago Heights, Jesse married Benjamin V. Perugino, who died in July of 1966. She was a keypunch operator for the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark, N.J. from 1951 until her retirement in 1980.  She moved to Norwich in 2004 to be near her family.
 She was a member of the Church of Our Savior in Newark, N.J. and of the Deer Creek Church in Chicago Heights, Ill.
 Jesse is survived by her daughter, Patricia P. Clarkson and her husband, Roger, of Norwich and a son, Edmund V. Perugino and his wife, Heather, of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Mark Davies, Glenn and Shari Davies and Kimberly and Richard Maykish, Angela, Laurie and Heather Ann Perugino; five great grandchildren, Kara and Elizabeth Davies and Colin, Alyssa and Tyler Maykish and one sister, Helen and Donald Stefan of Houston, Texas.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Nellie, Mike, Sam, Valentino, Parkie, Rose, Paul and Dora.
Graveside services for Jesse will be held in the spring of 2011 in Restland Memorial Cemetery in Roseland, N.J. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in memory of Jesse may be made to the charity of your choice.
