SHERBURNE – James A. Barnes, 71, of North Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 following a long battle since Father’s Day. He was born in Sherburne and resided in North Syracuse since 1958.
He had recently worked delivering flowers for Mulhauser and weekends at flea markets.
Family and friends were most important to James. His wife, Jill Templer Barnes, predeceased him on Oct. 1, 2004.
Surviving are four children, Vicki Ciccarelli of Eastwood, Kristin (Robert H.) of Mattydale, Jeff Barnes of Buford, S.C., and Jamie (Sam) Formica of N. Syracuse; three siblings, Willis (Barbara) Barnes of Williamsburg, Va., Jean (Ward) Dewey and Elsie Bennett of Sherburne; two sisters-in-law, Judy Templer of Syracuse and Joyce Barnes of South New Berlin; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Gates, Jessica and Amy Formica, Robert J., Nichole & Brittany Lum; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, faithful friends and his dog, Xia.
The calling hours were Monday afternoon with the funeral Tuesday from the Ferguson Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial was at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
