Florence Livermore


PITCHER – Florence B. Livermore, 89, of Pitcher, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland.
Born in Pitcher on July 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Ann Gilliland Eaton. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Cincinnatus. For 40 years she served as the Pitcher Town Clerk and tax collector.
She is survived by her children, Edward (Rose Cook) Scoville of Truxton, Donald (Uzella) Scoville of Cincinnatus, and Cynthia (Irv) Potter of Marathon. She also leaves behind a brother, Paul (Patricia) Eaton of Esperance; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald A. Scoville, in 1944 and her second husband, J.D. Livermore, in 1976. She was also predeceased by a son, Roger Livermore, in 2008; an infant daughter, Susan Livermore; brothers, Willard, Raymond, and Leslie Eaton; and a sister, Irene Gorzynski.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus at 1 p.m. on Friday with Reverend Palmer Neumeister officiating. Burial will be in Pitcher Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
