Edah Soules


NORWICH – Edah Mae Rickard Soules, 87, of Norwich, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 in the Gilmour Health Care Facility of Norwich.
Edah was born April 13, 1923 in Sanford, the daughter of Cyrus Eelson and Bertha Laseuer Pond and received her education in the local schools. Over her adult years she had made her home in the South Plymouth and Sherburne areas and was employed by Procter & Gamble for a period of 25 years. She was also a member of the Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals Quarter Century Club.
On Oct. 30, 1949 she married Daniel Rickard, who passed away Jan. 13, 1973 and on Jan. 24, 1974 married Walter Soules, who passed away March 2, 1987.
Edah is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Laura (Rickard) Mueller and her husband John of North Port, Fla., her son Warren Rickard and life partner Samuel Monroe of Hampton, Tenn. and her step-son William Rickard of Norwich. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law Wallace Crosby and his wife Anna of Windsor, her grandchildren John Daniel Mueller of Sarasota, Fla., Tracey Mueller-Gibbs and her husband Daniel of San Diego, Fla., a great grandson Cooper Mueller and great granddaughter Caileigh Gibbs. Several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and life long friend Blanche Ingraham of Oxford.
Besides her husbands Daniel and Walter, Edah was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Minnie Evelyn Shedd.
Graveside services for Edah will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the South Plymouth Cemetery. The Rev. Nancy Hale will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
