Luella Vidler


SHERBURNE – Luella Maude “Betty” Vidler, 87, formerly of Sherburne, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at her home in Edgewater, Fla.
She was born March 2, 1923 in Sherburne, a daughter of Arthur and Carrie Crosby Crandall and received her education in local schools. She married Donald Vidler who predeceased her on Sept. 11, 2001. Betty had been a dental assistant for Drs. Benedict and Bell in Sherburne. She was a member of the Sherburne American Legion Post #876 Auxiliary; and was a former member of the Order of East Star Tiandara Chapter #631 of Sherburne, and the Norwich Moose Lodge.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Kidd of Norwich; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Crandall of Poolville; Francis ‘Shorty’ and Myrtle Crandall of Sherburne and Florida; grandchildren, Cathy and Ron Rink of Willett; Gary Kidd, Jr. of Norwich; Sheri and Brent Roggie of Northeast, Pa.; brother-in-law, Richard Glodt of Calif.; sister-in-law, Viola Crandall of Ithaca; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Streich, a brother, Lyle Crandall, and two sisters, Dorothy Glodt and Lindy Bennett.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery, Route 12B, Sherburne.
There are no calling hours.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Legion Post #876, Sherburne.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
