NORWICH – Barbara L. Esslinger, 70, of Norwich, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 29, 2010 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Barb was born in May of 1940 in New Providence, N.J., the daughter of Basil and Harriet (Dawson) Cox. She grew up in New Providence and attended schools in Summit, N.J. Over the years Barb has made her home in Hackettstown, Miami, Fla. and for the past 30 years has lived in the Norwich area. While in Miami and Norwich she had worked in the home health care industry and worked for several nursing homes in Miami and Norwich.
A very talented and gifted artist, Barb will be remembered as a very loving and giving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
Barb is survived by her children; Karen and Tom Graham, Richard Esslinger and Tammy Esslinger all of Norwich, her sister Shirley Jones and husband Ken of Miami, Fla. and her brother Richard Cox also of Miami. Also surviving are her grandchildren Dustin, Heather and Halie Graham and Jessica, CJ, Maddy and Nicolas Esslinger. She was predeceased by her brother William (Buddy) Cox.
At Barb’s request services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
