COVENTRY – Dorothy J. Bogart, 74, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Delos Stanton and Glenn Bogart. She is survived by her children, Glenn and Susan Stanton of Atlanta, Ga., Dan and Sheila Stanton of Tunnel, Mark and Janet Stanton of Greene, Rose Stanton of Deposit, and Joan and Jason Granger of Harpursville; 15 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two sisters and a brother.
She was a loving mother with a kind heart and a giving spirit. Through life’s challenges, including the loss of two husbands, she was resilient and never once failed to support and love her children and grandchildren. She sacrificed to be sure others were comforted. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and those who were her friends throughout her life. Dorothy had a love of classical Western movies and music. She loved to show off her collection of DVDs and tapes and enjoyed sharing movies with her grandchildren. She crocheted hundreds of blankets for her family, keeping everyone from the youngest to the oldest warm. In her later years, puzzle books and her magic touch with plants kept her busy. She was very proud of Coventry as it was part of her identity.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Root Funeral Home. Pastor William Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Coventry.
Friends of the family may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene.
