Ronald Tyler


BINGHAMTON – Ronald Gibson Tyler, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Lourdes Hospital.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Charlotte (Sally) Tyler who passed away in 1997. He is survived by four children: Kim Evans, Mark Tyler, Tom Tyler and Wendy (John) Cook, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Lois) Tyler, Robert (Priscilla) Tyler, Sylvia (Joel) Andres, and special friends, Barb Doyle and Nancy Fitzgerald and many family and friends.
Ron was born in Norwich on Dec. 11, 1934. He graduated from Norwich High School in 1953 and attended three years at Syracuse University. He was a star athlete, avid golfer, and a charter member of Endwell Greens Country Club. He retired from New York Telephone in 1990 after 34 years of service.
Family will receive friends at the American Legion Post 1305, located at 820 Lower Stella Ireland Road, Binghamton, NY 13905 on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at the East Maine Cemetery in Johnson City.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lourdes Hospital for their caring and compassionate assistance throughout his illness.
