NORWICH – Lorraine A. Kane, 53, of Horstman Lane, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at Mercy Special Care, Nanticoke, Pa.
She was born Feb. 4, 1957 in Utica, a daughter of the late Robert E. Sr. and Florence VanDyke Kane. She was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School and received her Certified Nurses Aide certificate from BOCES On June 25, 1974, Lorraine married Terrance E. Sawyer in Earlville. She had worked at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin for a while. Following that, she became certified in dialysis care and did private duty nursing until her health declined.
Surviving are her husband, Terry; three sons, Jeremy Sawyer, Terry Sawyer Jr. and Jeffrey Kane; a stepdaughter, Amber Lyn Sawyer; a stepson, Victor Sawyer; sisters, Kathleen Kane Larkin of Va.; Eileen Kane Larkin Francis of West Brookfield; and Viola Kane Davies of Earlville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert, Jr. and Patricia Kane of Sherburne; David and Debra Kane of Luther, Okla.; Eugene Kane of Rochester; grandchildren, Elijah, Cody, Zachary and Navaeh; many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James in 1980, a niece, Sarah Kane in 1982, and a great-niece, Victoria Rose Kane in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Burial will be private.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service.
