AVON – Florence D. Clark, 94, of Avon, passed away May 3, 2010, at the Avon Nursing Facility. She was born July 13, 1915.
She is survived by her son, Wayne (Carol) Shaffer of N.C.; brother, Earl (Lynn) Upright, Jr. of Penn.; grandchildren, Kenneth, Kyle and Kristy Shaffer; great-grandson, Clayton Shaffer along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Kenneth Shaffer and Robert L. Clark.
Florence and Kenneth resided many years in Mt. Upton. Florence was employed at the Old Mill Restaurant in Rockwell’s Mills and also worked at NBT Bank in Norwich. She was a long time member of the Mt. Upton United Methodist Church.
She and husband Robert moved to Avon in the late 60s where Florence worked in the bakery at Sibley’s Department Store, Rochester. She was an active member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Avon.
Florence was a very loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Interment was at the East Canaan Cemetery in South Canaan, Penn.
