John Seiler


OXFORD – John F. “Jack” Seiler, 71, of Oxford passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his home.
He was born on April 8, 1939 in Teaneck, N.J. a son of Frank and Grace (Mayer) Seiler. On September 15, 1962 he married Margaret “Peg” Seiler, who survives.
Besides his wife, Peg, he is survived by his children, Ken and Brenda Seiler of Oxford, Scott and Linda Seiler of Oxford, Todd and Keren Seiler of Oxford, and Stacey and Robert Kidder of Cortland; his brothers, George and Linda Seiler of Holmesville and Raymond “Skip” and Barbara Seiler of Norwich; his sister, Carol Monroe of Preston; his grandchildren, Katie Seiler, Scotty Seiler, Cory Seiler, Rachel Seiler, Nicholas Kidder, Isaac Seiler, Ashley Kidder, and Christine Seiler. He is also survived by his special cousin, Fred Mayer and special friends, Henry and Ethel Mott, Dick and Mary Bucklin and the Leo Nightengale family.
Jack was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School. He worked for many years for C&U Telephone Co. and retired after over 30 years of service from GTE. He loved golf and was a member of Bluestone Golf Club and had also worked at the course. He enjoyed coaching his children as they were growing up in baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21 at 11 a.m. at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Allen Lang officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chenango County or a charity of one’s choice.
