Carol Anna Weaver

September 18, 1954 – September 29, 2026

Carol Anna Weaver, 72, of South New Berlin, NY, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. She leaves behind a family she loved fiercely, and a lifetime of laughter, compassion, stories, and a deep and abiding faith. Born September 18, 1954, in Oneonta, NY, Carol was the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Bugbee) Weaver. She grew up on family farms in Gilbertsville and South New Berlin, graduated with the South New Berlin Class of 1973, and, except for four months of her life, always called South New Berlin home.
Carol was never afraid of hard work—or trying something new. Over the years, she worked at Endicott Johnson, Valley View as a nurse’s aide, Keith Clark/At-A-Glance/Mead, and finally CIT, where she spent 18 years before retiring in 2020. No matter where she worked, caring for people came naturally to her. It wasn’t simply something Carol did; it was part of who she was.
Her faith was at the heart of her life. Carol was baptized at Holmesville Baptist Church at age 26 and later attended Calvary Baptist Church. Through the years, she participated in Bible studies, Awana, Vacation Bible School, and the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Her relationship with Jesus guided the way she lived, loved, forgave, and cared for others. And then there were the motorcycles. Carol loved to ride and earned her motorcycle license at 32, deciding that riding on the back simply wasn’t good enough, she wanted handlebars of her own. That independent, adventurous spirit was pure Carol.
She also had an enormous soft spot for dogs. Over the course of her life, she cared for more than 50 of them. If an animal needed love, patience, or a home, she had plenty to give. Carol could be nurturing and compassionate one minute and quirky and funny the next. She loved to laugh, joke around, entertain people, and make others feel welcome. She had once dreamed of being an actress, and while she never made it to Hollywood, anyone who knew Carol knows she never really needed a stage. She could create one wherever she happened to be. More than anything, Carol was the rock and central hub of her family. She was the one who kept people connected, loved without hesitation, and made sure the people who mattered to her knew exactly how much they were loved.
Of everything Carol did in her life, she considered her children and grandchildren her greatest accomplishment and greatest joy. Being their mother and grandmother was a role she treasured above all others. She showed that love by being there—at birthdays, celebrations, special occasions, and the events that mattered to them. If it was important to one of her children or grandchildren, it was important to Carol, too. Her greatest pride was watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being part of their lives.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Virginia Weaver, and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Weaver. She is survived by her children, Ed (Breanne) Heath, Shannon (Greg) Alford, and Daniel (Chrissy) Heath, whom she shared with their father, James Heath; grandchildren, James and Evan Heath, Andrew and Makenzie Spade, Shane and Nathan Alford, and Samantha, Lukas, and Jakob Heath; great-granddaughter, Everleigh; and an expected great-grandson Archie, due in December, and siblings, Jim (Terri) Weaver Sr. of South New Berlin, Donna (Dale) Brooker of South New Berlin, Rose Weaver (Mark Beebe) of Oxford, Judy (Don) Hendrickson of South New Berlin, and Sharon (Ryan) Cook of New Berlin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family members and countless friends who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Memorial donations may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 17420 Co Rd 23 Sidney, NY 13838, Holmesville Baptist Church 3024 State Highway 8 South New Berlin, NY 13843 or to a local no-kill animal shelter, two causes that reflect the faith and compassion with which she lived.
Carol believed in living, laughing, loving, and forgiving. Above all, she wanted to be remembered for her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her family will remember that faith, but they will also remember the motorcycles and dogs, the laughter and jokes, her big personality and compassionate heart—and a woman who loved her people fiercely and made sure they knew it.
A visitation will be held Tuesday October 6th, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street Morris, NY 13808. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Carol’s family has entrusted her care to Edd Stanimer of the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris. For online condolences to the family visit www.johnstonfh.com.
