Emanuel Victor Polizzi


Emanuel Victor Polizzi was born on May 8, 1945 in Queens, New York and died June 11, 2026 at home in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania following a short but fierce battle with ALS.
He was smart, funny, and loved exploring the world. He was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering (today known as NJIT) and of Utica College of Syracuse University and served in the US Army. He taught physics and math in high schools in Norwich, NY, Afton, NY, and BOCES, and taught education students in Middlesex Community College (Mass) how to teach science in elementary school.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emanuel and Angelina (Galante) Polizzi, brothers Gianbatista Polizzi and Leonard Polizzi and by his adopted parents Catherine and Frank Romano.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Susan (Panek) Polizzi, daughter Angela Christophetrsen (Dustin), son Michael Polizzi (Amy), grandchildren Caden Wallen, Ryze Christophersen, Teagan Christophersen and Malaya Polizzi, sister Marie Stone Platt and nephews Joseph Stone and Eric Stone.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday June 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Henessey Funeral Home in Susquehanna, PA, with a Memorial to be held Saturday, June 20 at Salem United Church of Christ, 108 Church Street, Pocono Manor, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to ALS United-MidAtlantic, your local Ronald McDonald House or your local food pantry.
