NORWICH – Joseph Charles Winter, age 63, a resident of Regina, New Mexico and Castle Creek, NY since 2000, died June 23, 2010 in a hiking accident, doing what he loved. 
Joe is survived by his wife, Margaret (Greta) Wingate of Castle Creek; his beloved dog, Smokey; his daughter, Gabrielle Goglia and husband Michael of Los Angeles, Calif.; his daughter, Jessie Vehar and husband Jeremy of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Michael Winter and wife Vaughan of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Reverend Harry Winter of Saint Paul, Minn.; mother, Dorothy Winter of Albuquerque, N.M.; 4 nieces and 1 nephew.  Joe is predeceased by his sister, Joanne Salyards of Syracuse and father, Joseph C. Winter of Sherburne. His first grandchild is expected in August, 2010. 
Details of a memorial service to be held in Norwich will published at a later date.
