Ruth Miller


SHERBURNE – Ruth A. Miller, 66, of West Baton and formerly of Sherburne, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 27, 2006 in the Community Memorial Hospital of Hamilton.
The daughter of Arthur and Pearl (DeGroff) Oliver, Ruth was born Aug. 22, 1940 in the Town of Nelson. She grew up in Sheds and attended school in DeRuyter. Her early years were spent in Sheds and for most of her adult life Ruth and her family lived in Sherburne. On April 26, 1986, she married Herbert Miller, who passed away Oct. 28, 2002.
Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was always there for her family and friends and would do anything for anyone.
Ruth is survived by her children; Rebecca Collar and companion Larry Davisson of Oneida, Roberta Ashton and husband Martin of New Berlin, Ruby Miller and companion John Lowe of Sherburne, Randy Miller and wife Wendy of Sherburne, Ralph Miller of Oneida, Regina Philhower and husband Don of Hubbardsville, and Richard Miller and wife Sharon of New Berlin, 30 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by her sisters; Lois Grenell and husband Carl of Sheds, Laura Goodfellow and companion Claire of Sherburne and Rose Rarick of Munnsville and her brother Roland Oliver of Mexico.
Besides her husband Herb, Ruth was predeceased by her son Roland Miller and great grandson Dalton Miller.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Fallon, pastor of the Crossroads Community Church of Sherburne. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sheds Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
