Genevieve Andrews


SHERBURNE – Genevieve A. “Jenny” Andrews, 82, of North Main St., passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.
She was born Nov. 3, 1927 in Sherburne, a daughter of Roderick J. and Mary E. Cahill Newman and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On February 22, 1946, Genevieve married Dean H. Andrews in Sherburne. He predeceased her on May 28, 1982. Jenny had worked for several area firms, including TACO, Bennett Ireland, Standard Brands and the Sherburne U-Pump-Um. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose family was her greatest joy.
Mrs. Andrews was a communicant of St. Malachy‚s Church in Sherburne, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Sherburne Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Daniel and Patricia Andrews of Sherburne; Theresa and Allen Owen of Earlville; Todd and Julie Andrews of Springwater; and Julia Andrews of Sherburne; sisters-in-law, Joan Newman, Clarice Bagnall and Gertrude Andrews, all of Sherburne; her beloved grandchildren, Jason and Sarina Owen, Jeanne and Richard Macumber; Dylan and Logan Andrews-Martineau; cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lincoln and Desirae Owen, Tanner Manwarren and Landyn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant son, Gary Andrews; her brothers, Edward Newman, Sr. and Richard Newman; and a sister, Louise Diamond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Thursday, June 24 from St. Malachy’s Church, East State St., Sherburne, followed by burial in St. Malachy’s Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m.
