Sheila Anne Root Call, 83, of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday June 7, 2025 at the Mount Pleasant Health & Rehab Center in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
Sheila was born in Hudson, New York, on September 27, 1941, to the late Gladys Gaye Chadden. She was raised in Oxford, New York, by her loving adoptive parents, the late Sydney W. And Anne J. Root.
Sheila married Edward J. Call on February 21, 1961, residing in Norwich, New York, for many years before moving to Orlando, Florida. Sheila was an avid crafter, there wasn’t any kind of crafts that she did not like making. Bowling was also her passion. She was in many bowling leagues with Ed over the years. She worked for many years at the University of Central Florida as a secretary. After the passing of Ed in 2003, she relocated to Pulaski, TN, to be close to her daughter Anne Garnes.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher and Beverly Miles of Norwich, NY, Edward and Chere Call of Sevierville, TN, Steven and Melonie Call of Apopka, FL; daughter Linda Call of Pulaski, TN; brothers, Robert Germond of Virginia, Gary Homberger of Florid; sisters, Susan Carey of Florida, Patricia Bailey of Florida, Barbara Homberger of Florida; former spouse Gardner L. Miles and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Call Sr., daughter Anne Garnes, son William Call, brother Louis Ashton, and sisters Joyce Ashton and Gearldine Ashton.
There will be no services and burial will be in the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Tenessee, next to her husband Edward.
