Tanya Lynn Johnson

Tanya Lynn Johnson, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend to all, passed away May 28th, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 36. Born on September 4th, 1988. Tanya brought joy and laughter into the world from the very beginning, touching the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her.
Tanya lived with Jacobsen syndrome (JS), also known as 11q terminal deletion disorder, it is a rare genetic disorder that affects about 1 in 100,000 people. A condition that never defined her but instead revealed her incredible strength, resilience, and spirit. She approached life with innocence, kindness, and an infectious sense of humor that made even the hardest days feel lighter. Known to most simply as “T,” “Noodle,” “Grandma”, she found laughter in everything—and she shared it freely. Whether she was laughing at the simplest things, flashing her unforgettable smile, or making everyone around her feel loved, Tayna had a way of reminding us all of what truly matters.
She was a light in the lives of her family and community—radiating warmth, joy, and unconditional love. Her soul was gentle, her presence comforting, and her laughter unforgettable. Tanya had a unique ability to turn simple moments into cherished memories. She didn’t need grand gestures to make an impact; her life was a beautiful reminder that love and joy can be found in the everyday.
Her life was filled with simple pleasures and deep love. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her best pal, Boomer—a big black lab with a heart as loyal as hers. Boomer was always found laying in her lap or by her side, showering her with kisses, and enjoying the McDonald’s treats she never forgot to get him. Their bond was pure and true, a perfect picture of the love Tanya gave so freely to everyone in her life.
Tanya is survived by her loving parents Wayne and Diana (Adsit) Johnson of Earlville; her devoted siblings, Kyle and Rachel (Miles) Johnson of Oxford, Anthony and Amber(Johnson) Parks of Smithville, and Julie Johnson of Sherburne; ten nieces and nephews; and many more family members and friends who will carry her memory forever.
Tanya was preceded in death by her grandparents Jim and Claudia (Munyan) Johnson of Sherburne, Eleanor (Jane) Hall of Sherburne, and her Uncle Stanley (Dean) Adsit of North Norwich.
A celebration of Tanya’s life will be held on June 8th, 2025 at noon, location to be determined. In honor of Tanya’s joyful spirit, her love of parties and her charismatic impact on everyone who knew her, the family invites guests to wear Mickey and Minnie Mouse, or her favorite color red and share a favorite memory or story and if you’re able, a dish to pass. Tanya loved being surrounded by good food and good company, and we’d love to celebrate her just the way she would’ve wanted: full of warmth, laughter, and love.
Tanya will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the laughter she sparked, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so generously. She was our light, our joy, our heart—and we will carry her with us, always.
Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
