Joseph Miller


NORWICH – Joseph A. “Joe” Miller, 76 of Seagate Village, S.C., died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at his home in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born in Binghamton, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Marie Miller. He was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and Broome Technical College. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran serving aboard the Destroyer USS Hickox DD673 for forty months. Mr. Miller was employed with New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) for over thirty years and had held numerous management positions within this company. He was past president of the Norwich Kiwanis Club and served on the Board of Directors of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Clinton and Essex Counties, Division of Youth for NY State and was a volunteer for the Literacy Volunteers of Clinton County. Mr. Miller was the first Chairperson of the Private Industry Council for Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties and served on the Board of Directors for the council in Albany.
Surviving are his wife, Solange “Sally” J. Trepanier; children, Charles Miller, Kelly Ehrhardt and Colleen Whalen; step children, Ricky, Cindy and Debbie MacIntosh, six grandchildren and three step grandchildren; numerous nieces, cousins, brothers and sisters in law.
Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave., Garden City Beach, SC 29576.
