David A. McKissick, 69, of Norwich, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025. He was born in Schenectady on April 11, 1956 to the late Robert and Charlotte McKissick.
David worked for many years at the Chenango County Highway Department as an equipment operator, retiring in 2018. After retiring, David enjoyed playing golf and often helped his nephew on the dairy farm in South Otselic as well as driving a dump truck for Yacano’s Construction. David had a routine every morning that took him to many local diners where he could be found visiting with the people he enjoyed. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who was always willing to help anyone in need and his grandchildren were the highlight of his life.
David leaves behind his fiancé, Peggy Huntley; his children, Matthew and Kyra McKissick, Amber and Jason Gridley, and Ryan and Tracy (Foster) McKissick; his grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Logan, Brayden, Sadie, D.J., and Lilyana; his sisters, Helen Baker, and Faye Howard; his brother, Butch McKissick; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of David’s life will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, at the Plymouth Fire House, 3461 St. Hwy. 23, Plymouth from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
