Christopher L. Turner, 52, of Norwich and Oxford died on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Born on January 18, 1972, in Colorado Springs, CO, Chris is the only son of the late Leonard Lane and Katherine Elizabeth (Mirabito) Turner. With his family, Chris spent his early years in Green Mountain Falls, CO, at the foot of Pikes Peak, where the mountain was his playground. He spent countless hours with his family hiking the mountains. At the age of six, Chris and his family moved to Norwich where he attended school. Chris served in the United States Navy from 1990-1991 before settling in Old Forge, NY. There, he appreciated nature and hiked the Adirondack Mountains just like he did in Colorado. He later moved back to the Norwich/Oxford area.
In Norwich, Chris worked as an installer for Protel and started a small family farm in Preston. There, he cared for various farm animals and bred Labrador dogs. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, hiking, cutting wood, watching wildlife and birds, and always enjoyed making a great meal for the family. Throughout all of life’s struggles, Chris’s love of family and nature was a constant.
Chris is survived by his uncles and aunts, his children, his siblings, and many other family members.
