James C. Wright


James C. Wright, known to many as Christopher, Chris or Jim, tragically passed away on January 1, 2025.
Christopher was born December 1, 1956, in Norwich to the late James Wright and Joyce Barrows. He was also preceded by his first wife, Eva Wright.
Christopher graduated from Oxford Central High School in 1975.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY Oneonta. Following, he served in the Army, active duty, from 1976-1980 and was in the Army Reserves for an additional seven years.  After serving his country he began his career at Frontier Communication. In his 26 years of service, he had worked his way up to Complex Assignor. He received numerous accolades for his attendance and was very dedicated to this company.
Christopher was a devoted parishioner in the Catholic Faith. He found comfort in daily Mass. He enjoyed his morning walks and his frequent trips to the YMCA. Christopher loved regularly hosting gatherings for family and friends where there was sure to be enough food to feed an army. He was also an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, kayaking, hiking and fishing at the family camp on Eaton Brook Reservoir.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Nicko Tecson Wright of Norwich, NY; in-laws, Rommer (Merly) Tecson, Jing Tagle, Arthur Tagle, Kathy, Dave, Benedict, Emmanuel, Paul, Jed, Rhoda, Jette, Michelle, Richelle, Recri, Jeanne of the Philippines; his three siblings, Jeffery Barrows (Wendy Moore) of Oxford; Jocyndra “Jo” Wright of Norwich, NY, Jalyndra “Lindy”  (Michael) Lewis of Endwell, NY: children, Oliver Currie of Binghamton, NY, Don Currie of Smithville Flats, NY, Grace (Keith) Bazzle of Texas, Teri Currie of Norwich; nephews and niece, Adam and Andrew DelCano of Endwell, NY, Blake, Bodie and Bray Barrows of Oxford, NY; grandchildren, Raven and Lark Aguilar of Texas, Kayleigh and Mia Currie of Norwich, NY, Skylar and Ariana Velasco of Binghamton, NY; and great-grandchildren, Maximus and Barrett Laporte of Texas.
Christopher’s family will receive friends at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. on Friday, January 10th from 4-7 p.m.  A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11 a.m., at the Church of St. Paul’s, 30 Pleasant Street, Norwich, NY.
Christopher will be laid to rest in the St. Paul’s Cemetery with a spring interment date to be set at the family convenience.
