David J. Barnhart, 54, of Norwich, died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY.
Born on February 5, 1970, in Sidney, NY, Dave is a son of Sylvia Meehan and David G. Barnhart. He attended school in Norwich and served honorably in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC from 1992 to 1996. Dave worked for the Raymond Corporation in Greene as a fork lift operator. He had a passion for rock music and played the drums, the guitar and sang.
David is survived by his father, David Barnhart of Guilford; mother, Sylvia (Robert) VanDeusen of South Otselic; sons, Dakota (Sean) Barnhart of Boiling Springs, SC, Dalton (Sarah) Barnhart of Snow Camp, NC, and Kyle Barnhart of Denver CO; grandsons, Hudson Barnhart and Jonah Barnhart; sister, Jessica (Cody) Christopherson of Norwich; step-siblings, Robert VanDeusen of WI, and Tammy Vandeusen of Whitney Point; fiancé, Nancy White, of Norwich; and best friend, Joe Bulwin of Sherburne.
A graveside service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the NYS Veterans’ Home Cemetery, 4207 NY-220, Oxford, NY 13830.
