Cynthia M. Pautard, 76, of Sherburne, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at her home.
She was born on February 19, 1948, in Utica, a daughter of the late Lowell and Luella (Palmer) Shapley. She attended Smithville Flats Grade School and graduated from Greene Central High School. On March 23, 1968, she married Michael E. Pautard, Sr., in Smithville Flats. He predeceased her on January 12, 2005.
Cynthia worked as an EMT for Gray’s Ambulance, Norwich, a phlebotomist at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich and while living in Florida she worked at Wuesthoff Hospital, Cocoa, FL., and for the American Red Cross, Daytona Beach, FL. She was a volunteer EMT for the Smyrna Fire Department and a past member of the Presbyterian Church, Smithville Flats. Cynthia enjoyed the crocheting, participating in the Chit Chat Club at the Sherburne Meadows, spending time with her family, going to the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jenalyn Pautard, Jr. of Iowa, David and Karen Pautard of Oxford, a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Timothy Miles of Oxford; a sister, Shirley (Gary) DeForest of North Pharsalia; brothers, Roy (Linda) Shapley of Nebraska, Lowell and Bonnie Shapley II of Blossvale; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Webb; an infant brother, David Shapley and her stepmother, Jennie Strangan Shapley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna, where she will be interred with her late husband.
There will be no calling hours.
