Our hearts are broken, our world has dimmed with the passing of our mother, Carolyn Louise (Sergent) Diamond. She passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.
She was born in Poolville on July 10, 1942, youngest daughter of Burton and Mattie Sergent. Her childhood was spent on her sister’s farm. She was a 1960 graduate of Hamilton School, where she was on the Baton Twirling Guard. She started her career working for Gaines (Standard Brands Pet Foods), Sherburne, and later worked as secretary for Lily White, then Cheeseborough Ponds, Sherburne. When they closed, she was employed by BOCES as Student Services Secretary and retired after years of faithful service and being able to type 140 words a minute with no mistakes.
In 1961 she married Theadore Yerton. Later, in March of 1966, she married Raymond Diamond. He predeceased her in 2001.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to Gail (Mort) Morgan, Dana (Mandy) Yerton, Tina Yerton, and Shayne Diamond; grandchildren Chris Morgan, Corey Morgan, Cameron Yerton, Jesse Yerton; great-grandson Chance Yerton and great-granddaughter Maddie Bennett and also a good friend Kathy Harris.
