Richard James McDaniels

Richard J. McDaniels, 68, of Norwich passed away Saturday, May 4th, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter Sherene and (Robert) Donnelly of Kirkwood; daughter Michelle and (Nathaniel) Padua of Afton; daughter Nicole and (Paul) Jorett of Johnson City; brother Phillip McDaniels of Kirkwood and several adored grandchildren.
Richard was a Marine Corps veteran and was later employed by Amphenol Corporation in Sidney, NY, before retiring.
Richard always enjoyed spending time with family and especially looked forward to summer so he could enjoy his love of camping, fishing, yard work and other outdoor activities. He was a caring, giving person who liked to help others and we were proud of him. He was sincerely looking forward to a 40 year wedding anniversary which we were able to celebrate prior to his passing. He will be greatly missed but in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team at Binghamton General Hospital for their excellent care of Richard in his time of need.
At Richard’s request, he wished to be cremated. A “Celebration of Life” with the family will be at a later date.
