Margaret Cunningham


SHERBURNE – Margaret E. Cunningham, 92, of State Highway 80, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born March 5, 1918 in Norwich, a daughter of Leonard and Bethel Rider Smith and was a graduate of Norwich High School. On Nov. 28, 1945, Margaret was married to Bernard J. Cunningham in Sherburne. He predeceased her on April 12, 1993. Margaret was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She had also worked at various jobs including as a student monitor at the Sherburne-Earlville Central School for many years.
Margaret was a communicant of St. Malachy‚s Church in Sherburne, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are her children, John E. and Sharon Cunningham of Santa Fe, N.M.; James B. Cunningham of Golden, Colo.; Sharon E. Cunningham of Rochester, Minn.; Nancy J. Miner of Poolville and her companion Ken R. House; a son-in-law, Fay E. Faulkner of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Keith Nashan Cunningham of San Diego, CA; Erin Elizabeth (Faulkner) and Chris Osetek of Mooresville, NC; and Stephanie Miner of Toledo, Ohio. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lou Faulkner on June 23, 1999; a son-in-law, F. James Miner on March 26, 1984; and a daughter-in-law, Carol J. Cunningham on May 30, 2005.
A Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S.  Main St., Sherburne, followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Malachy’s Church, Sherburne.
Interment will be in St. Malachy‚s Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends were invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p’m. The Rosary was recited at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
