David C. Sabin, 68, of Sherburne passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was born on November 6, 1955, in New Berlin, a son of the late Clinton P. and Jeanne (Reynolds) Sabin. He was a 1973 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School, and a 1977 graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, with a bachelor’s in music – Applied Piano and Performance.
He was the former music director and pianist for the Theatre a la Carte; the Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church organist; Syracuse University – College of Visual and Performing Arts accompanist and Holy Cross Polish-National Catholic Church organist. David was a member of the Sherburne United Methodist Church, where he would play the piano and played clarinet and occasional piano in town bands.
David is survived by his daughter, Lauren Louise Sollecito-Sabin; a sister, Sylvia L. Sabin of Sherburne; and a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen L. and Rebecca Sabin of Sherburne. He is also survived by several cousins, and step-nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited and may call on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the Sherburne United Methodist Church, 11 Chapel St., Sherburne, NY 13460.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the church.
