It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Harmon of Sherburne, NY, on December 21, 2023. Born on November 18, 1950, to parents Allen and Edith Harmon in Bainbridge, he was a lifelong resident of Chenango County. He graduated from Bainbridge-Guilford Central School in 1970 and went on to work for Frontier Communications as a Lineman Foreman for 43 years, retiring in 2016.
He was a kind, gentle and happy man who appreciated the simple gifts of life. He deeply loved his family, laughed a lot with his many friends, truly enjoyed quiet times at the farm and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Most days you could find him at Judy’s diner, cutting wood or sitting with his beloved dog Zoey.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Sheryl Harmon; sister Patricia Steeves, Bainbridge; son Scott Harmon and his wife Johanna; grandchildren Cael, Avery, Kolton and Josephine of Bartonsville, PA; and son Randy Harmon and grandchildren Connor, Mason, Addy, Bentley and Braxton of Sherburne.
