Helen Lea Brown, 88. of DeRuyter, NY passed away onNovember 5, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in Morris, NY on February 9, 1935 to Jay and Lena (Ferguson) Curry.
She was married to Leonard (Cork) G. Brown on January 28,1954. They were married for 36 years before Leonard’s passing in 1990.
Helen is survived by three children: Sandra (Douglas) Hartnett, Jay Brown, Sharon (Jim) Daley and daughter-in-law Tammy Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Clark, Shane (Rae) Clark, Kristin Clark, Casey (Bob) VanAuken,Jamie (Alex) Brown, Dillion (Katie) Brown, Ryan (Melanie) Ackley, and Tyler Daley. She was best knownas GiGi to 11 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by her sisters: Dorothy Curry, Chloe DeForest, Ruth Brown; and her brothers: James Curry and Donald Curry. She was also predeceased by her loving companion Richard (Duke) Hoag.
Per Helen’s request there will be no services.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, N.Y.
