Calvin C. Wynn


Calvin C. Wynn, 88, of Smyrna, NY, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, in his home.
Calvin was born and raised on the family dairy farm on May 10, 1935 to Charles A. and Gladys (Campbell) Wynn. He was a graduate of Sherburne schools. On June 21, 1958, he married Loretta M. Excell at the West Smyrna Baptist Church, she predeceased him July 4, 1997. Calvin worked for the S-E Central School District for over 55 years as a bus driver, mechanic, and retiring as the head bus mechanic. He was a member of West Smyrna Baptist Church where he served as deacon and trustee. Calvin enjoyed working on cars, deer hunting, camping, and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.
He is survived by children: Norman (Ramona) Wynn of Smyrna, Kevin (Jennifer) Wynn of Lebanon, Christina A. Wynn of Smyrna; sister, Geraldine (Joseph) Day of Smyrna; Lois (predeceased by Robert) Angle of Otselic; grandchildren: Steven (Kristen) Wynn, children, London and Calvin, Erik (Annie) Wynn, Wendy Wynn, all of Smyrna; Forrest Wynn (fiancé Emily Powrie) of Buffalo, Hunter Wynn (girlfriend Lydia Cooley) of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held Saturday, November 4, at 1 p.m. at the West Smyrna Baptist Church. Friends and family are invited to call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne. Donations in Calvin’s name may be made to Operation Christmas Child c/o West Smyrna Baptist Church, 803 NY Route 80, Smyrna, NY 13464.
