SOUTH EDMESTON – Marjorie A. Welton, 89, went straight to Heaven on April 29, 2010.
She was born in South Edmeston on Nov. 26,1920 to Harold and Jennie Estes Whittemore. On June 1, 1946 she married Howard L. Welton in Earlville.
Marge is survived by three daughters and their families: Sara Welton, parent of Robyn & Cato Johnson, grandparent to Cade and Lola Johnson; Sandy and David Drew, parents to Selena Blake, Justin & Betsy Drew, Tiffany Drew grandparents to Kyle Blake, Thomas, Amber, and new baby Ethan Drew (born April 29, 2010) and Natalie O’Neil; Peggy and Rodger Collins, parents of Ryan, Brian & Jodi, Nathan and Tobin & Erica, grandparents to Matthew and Paige Collins, Tobin and Addison Hurlocker.
Marge was a mom and homemaker who held various jobs through her life, but enjoyed antiquing most of all when she and Howard retired.
With the kind facilitation of the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, Marge was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery next to Howard and their infant son Thomas on May 1, 2010 during a private graveside celebration.
The family suggests that contributions in memory of Marge may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich.
