Helen E. Fuller passed away on July 5, 2023 at Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Norwich to the late Emrys and Elizabeth Roberts. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Shaleen Dungey; her infant son, Steven; and her brother, John Roberts. Survivors include her children, Barbara and Jeffrey Blackman, of Norwich, Charles Fuller, of Cortland, and LeRoy Diamond, of GA; her grandchildren, William and Emily Blackman, of Guilford, Jessica Moore, of Norwich, Erica and Jeff Bernardo, of Endicott, Chris and Ruth Dungey, of Hamilton, LeRoy and Heather Diamond, of Norwich, Miranda Diamond, of Norwich, Taylor Diamond, of McDonough, and Shannon Babcock, of Jacksonville, FL; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Helen was employed for many years with Norwich Knitting Mills, Nortogs, Cool-It Rainwear, and CWS. She volunteered her time at the Sherburne American Legion as a bar tender and also helped with the weekly bingo games and Friday fish frys. She played on the legion’s shuffleboard travelling league and always was ready to enjoy a game of Pitch. Helen was a longtime member of the Sherburne American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich with Pastor Brad Keator officiating. Burial will take place privately at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Sherburne American Legion Auxiliary, 15 S. Main St. Sherburne, NY 13460
