Dianna Lee Merritt Dungey
Dianna Lee Merritt Dungey, 73, of Willet, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City following a brief illness.
Dianna was born on June 27, 1949 in Bainbridge, NY, the daughter of William Merritt and Virginia Leonard.
Spending most of her life locally, she worked as a general laborer for Dunckel’s Egg Farm for many years, on the assembly line for Norwich Shoe Co. (later Champion), and as a customer service representative for the Norwich Walmart.
In her leisure time, Dianna loved to crochet and was a huge fan of Steve Harvey, and never missed an episode of Family Feud.
Dianna loved her family with all her heart, and she was heartbroken when her beloved dogs, Chloe and Bingo, died. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them and with all of her family and friends who have gone before her.
Dianna is survived by her children, Brian Dungey, Tammy Strozier, Ronnie Dungey Jr., Sandy Pena, and Vickie (Brent) Stone; her grandchildren, Brittany Buterbaugh, Bridget (Danny) Williams, Brandy Jo (Brandon) Williams, Daniel (Lindsay) Dungey, Eric (Hilary) Owen, Trent Stone, Spencer Stone, Chelsea Stone, Dustin Dungey, Devin Dungey, Nate Dungey, and Amber (Hawk) Bruno; her great-grandchildren, whom she through the world of, Tristin, Wesley, Jacob, Trapper, Kinnley, Lucas, Isaac, Ruby, Jordan (“George”), Caden, Blake, Augest, Trenton, Dale, Landon, Brayden, Nevaeh, and Alija; and her sisters and brothers, Vera Glover, Lorrie Wilkins, Billy Fairchild, and lifetime family member Wendy Buterbaugh; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ronnie D. Dungey Sr.; her sister, Sandy Squires; and her grandson, Bradley Clements
Visitation for Dianna will be held Friday, December 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116, N. Broad Street, Norwich. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Ronnie, at a later date in the Donnelly Family Cemetery in Preston.
