Kelley Paul Octigan

Kelley Paul Octigan, loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend to so many, passed away at the age of sixty-three.
Kelley was born June 2, 1959 to the father Westley Octigan (predeceased) and mother Florence Octigan in Hartford, CT. He would go on to marry the love of his life, Jennifer Octigan. Living with a zest for life, they shared an undeniable love that most do not find in a lifetime.
Kelley dedicated his life to raising his boys, Connor and Andrew Lawton. He would do anything for the people he cared about. He was genuine and kind. He was known to take time to have conversations with anyone he came in contact with and always included everyone in the room. Many will reflect on the memorable conversations they had with Kelley over a cigar and bourbon, while he talked about his love for family, friends, Red Sox baseball, and golf. One of the most inspiring moments of his life was not only his comeback from suffering a stroke, but then the strength and perseverance he had in the months of training that led to him completing the New York City Marathon in 2013. We will remember his infectious smile, the way he made us laugh, his charisma, and the reminder to live life to the fullest.
Kelley also leaves behind his sister Paula (Stan) Ostrowski; brothers Barry (Lynn) Octigan and Glenn Octigan; his nieces Kayla and Simone; nephews Max and Jonathan; and great nephew Westley. Marrying Jenn provided him with several other in-laws who were all near and dear to his heart as well as the many friends in his life.
Family and friends will be invited to participate in a celebration of Kelley’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.
Memories and messages of condolence may be shared with the family at whitakerfuneralhome.com.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Octigan family.
