Caroline A. Thompson
Caroline A. Thompson, 95, of Beaver Meadow Rd., Smyrna, NY, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at her home.
She was born on February 9, 1927 in Taylor Valley, NY, a daughter of James B. and Florence Cass Blanchard. She was a graduate of Smyrna High School and SUNY, Morrisville with a degree in Food Service. On March 30, 1948, Caroline was united in marriage to Walter B. Thompson and they shared 58 years together until he predeceased her on March 16, 2006. Caroline’s dedication to her family was always her priority. She was a very busy lady who also pursued several careers over the years. She sold Avon products for 23 years. She was a home health aide for Home Health Care in Sherburne; a clerk at Hodges Department Store in Sherburne; cook and teacher’s aide for Head Start; as well as working on the family farm.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smyrna.
Surviving are her children, Bruce and Barbara Thompson of Smyrna; Cathy and Salvatore Arena of Chittenango; Vicky and Robert Tracy of Earlville; William and Valarie Thompson of Saratoga Springs; Karen and Glenn Jaquay of Cassville; Lisa and Ernie Schraft of Smyrna; Linda and Michael Wells of Morris; grandchildren, Danielle (Terry) Comer; Matthew Bigelow; Elizabeth VanDeBogart, Jennifer Arena, Victoria (Kristopher) Balintfy, Toni (Mark) Carpenter, Kelly Tracy (Alex Solomon), Kerri (Mac) Mikalunas, Jonathan Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Melissa (Earl)Thayer, Stacy (Chad) Wilcox, Cody and Zak Schraft; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Dominic Joy, Gavin and Grayson Balintfy, Alex Campbell, Colin Carpenter, Destinee Posey, Lain and Levi Mikalunas, Sara Thayer, Ivan and Aiden Wilcox, David Button, Carter, Aydrielle and Brayliana Schraft, Ethan, Steven and Daniel Comer, Kurtis and Leo Bigelow; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Claudia Bigelow and Susan Thompson, and three brothers, John, Stewart and Lee Blanchard.
Memorial Services will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 5, 2022 from the First United Methodist Church, Main St., Smyrna with interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
