Sabra G. (Sally) Thomsen, 78, a lifelong resident of the Norwich area passed away Monday morning, July 18, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Sally was born in Norwich on August 6, 1943 the daughter of Joseph L. and Mildred (Simmons) Gage.
She grew up in Norwich and was a 1961 graduate of the Norwich High School. In 1962 she began a longtime career with Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals beginning in the mailroom working her way up to Cost Accounting retiring in 2009 after 39 years of employment.
In her spare time Sally’s favorite activities included playing her many games with friends and family such as scrabble and wordle. It should be understood that Sally ALWAYS played to win. She also enjoyed being entertained by all of her top TV shows.
Sally is survived by her children James Welch of Rio Rancho, NM, Scott (Kimberly) Welch of Buffalo, Jeffery Welch of West Des Moines, IA and Joleen (Jeff) Genter of Earlville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Brittany Welch, Sydney Welch, Ryan Genter, Sara Genter, Chelsia Keller, Noah Welch, Jude Welch and Otto Welch along with 4 great grandchildren.
Sally was predeceased by a sister Judith Erb, daughter-in-law Theresia Welch and great grandchild Ella J. Hicks.
A funeral service for Sally will be held on Saturday, August 6, at 1:00 p.m. from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
