SHERBURNE: Stephen A. Vanderwarker, 68, of S. Main St., passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
He was born on March 21, 1954 in Norwich, a son of the late Frank and Florence Wilson Vanderwarker and was a graduate of South New Berlin High School. Stephen was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for KFC in Norwich. He was a private person who lead a very simple life. He enjoyed taking walks and trying to win the lottery.
He was a member of the City Church in Norwich.
Surviving are his sister, Peggy Fowlston of Sherburne; a brother Richard Vanderwarker of Norwich; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Marilyn Vanderwarker; two sisters, Janice Dain and Virginia Englehardt; and two brothers, Frank Vanderwarker, Jr. and David Vanderwarker.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the City Church, 97 Silver St., Norwich.
Interment with military honors will be in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
