Sherman French, 75, formerly of Groton NY, passed away on May 8, 2022 with his wife and family by his side.
Sherm was born on May 24, 1946, to Harold and Willomay French of Groton, NY and was a 1964 graduate of Groton High School.
Sherm worked for many years at NBT Bank Norwich, as a computer programmer until his retirement. After retiring from NBT, he worked as a delivery driver for Martin’s Bread, Snyder’s Pretzel, and Huff Ice Cream.
Sherm was a minister of the New Apostolic Church for over 50 years. His loving and faithful service was his legacy to his entire family and all whom he served. His family was extremely blessed by his faith and dedication to the Lord. Many of his children and grandchildren continue his legacy through ministry and service.
Sherm will always be remembered for his patience, kindness, passion, humor and love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda (Tanner), his sons, Todd (Trish) French of Norwich, NY, Dennis (Valerie) French of Merritt Island, FL and Shane (Teresa) Trask of Norwich, NY, his daughters Stacey Golden of Norwich, NY and Deena (Robert) Wrieden of Sweet Springs, MO. Sherm has 17 grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, with another on the way. He is also survived by his 10 brothers and sisters.
He was predeceased by his infant son Wade French and son Mark Trask.
Friend and family may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday, 5/10, from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, 5/11, at 6 pm.
A private burial will be held at the family’s convenience.
