Winifred Lobdell


OXFORD – Winifred L. Lobdell, 90, of Oxford passed away on March 26, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1919 in McDonough a daughter of the late Howard and Christine (Morse) Potter. On April 25, 1942 in McDonough she married Robert G. Lobdell, who passed away on Oct. 16, 2008.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Lobdell and companion Penny of Oxford, Jim Lobdell of Oxford, Rich and Candace Lobdell of Ballston Lake, and Greg and Karen Lobdell of Oxford; her brother, George Potter of Cicero, and her sisters, Elsie Congdon of Norwich, and Kay Leach of Endicott. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mary Lobdell and Jenny Lobdell both of Oxford, Lorri Race of Norwich, Alicia Lobdell and companion Jamel of Oxford, Jessica Nollet of Brigantine, N.J. and Jeffrey Lobdell of Brighten, Mass.; her great grandchildren, Brody, Mason, Maddy, Benson, Alexis, Zack, Lynnea and Jayda. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Potter, a sister, Virginia Beckwith and a grandson, John Lobell.
Winnie attended school in McDonough and graduated from Oxford Academy and Central School. She had worked at the Crescent Corset Co. on Oxford, State Farm Insurance and Jamesway in Norwich. She enjoyed bowling. She was an avid sports fan of Syracuse University, especially the basketball team. She loved watching sports on the television. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be private with no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire Department, PO Box 570, Oxford, NY 13830.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.
