Paul E. Harrington, Sr., of Guilford, passed away on December 27, 2021. Paul was born in Norwich to the late Edward and Ethel Harrington and attended school in Mt. Upton. Paul made his living doing many different jobs through the years including logging, dairy farming, over the road trucking, mechanic, stone cutter and all around handyman. He loved traditional country music and watching his children perform music.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kay Harrington, of Guilford; his son, Paul Harrington, Jr., of Sidney; his daughters, Lorraine Newell and George Minor, of Guilford, Ellen Harrington and Dave Gill, of Sidney Center, and Yvonne “Beaver” and Brian Hartwell, Sr., of Unadilla; his grandchildren, Paul III and Erin Harrington, of Sidney, Thomas and Brianna Harrington, of Sidney, Jeffrey and Rochelle Harrington, of Sidney, Jessica Hartwell, of Sidney, Autum and Cody Shackelton, of Mt. Upton, Brian Hartwell, Jr., of Mt. Upton, Jeannette and Dave Peck, of Gilbertsville, Jeremiah Gill, of Sidney, and Jessica Newell, of Sidney Center; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Aramita Favel, of Norwich; his brothers in law, Harry “Butch” Barse, Mike and Sandy Barse, and Fred Barse; his sisters in law, Melinda Barse, and Bonnie Harrington; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Edwards; his brothers, David Harrington, and Robert Harrington; his grandson, Joshua Newell; his niece, Carol (Harrington) McGrath; and his sister in law, Rosie Harrington.
Calling hours for Paul will take place at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich on Friday, January 7th from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Burial will take place in the spring.
