Malinda C. Bennett


 SHERBURNE – Malinda C. Bennett, 75, of Sherburne, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at the NYS Veterans’ Home, Oxford.
She was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Columbus, a daughter of Arthur and Carrie Crosby Crandall and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. Malinda married Neil H. Bennett who predeceased her on Feb. 28, 1994. Mrs. Bennett was a life long Sherburne area resident who had worked for Norwich Pharmaceuticals, Irmin Mody, and then the Earlville Paper Box Co. until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed line dancing.
Malinda was a former member of the American Legion Post #876 Auxiliary of Sherburne and the Women of the Moose Lodge #364 of Norwich.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Shari Bennett of Guilford, Steven and Sandy Bennett of Sherburne; a sister, Betty Vidler of Florida; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Crandall of Poolville, Francis and Myrtle Crandall of Sherburne and Florida; a brother-in-law, Richard Glodt of California; her very close friend, Fran Winton of Norwich; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Patrick Bennett; a sister Dorothy Glodt; and a brother, Lyle Crandall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Burial will be in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
