William V. “Bill” Conron


William V. “Bill” Conron, 67, formerly of Norwich and more recently of St. Jame’s, NY, passed away at Stony Brook University Hospital on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Born in Norwich on October 22, 1953, Bill was the son of the late Robert and Henrietta “Etta” (Rhodes) Conron. He graduated from Norwich High School in 1971 before attending SUNY Morrisville. Bill then earned a Bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee University. After relocating to Long Island, NY, Bill spent a lengthy career with the New York State Department of Health as an administrator for nursing homes, hospitals, and medical facilities for thirty years.
Throughout his life, Bill always made time for his family and coming back to Norwich for family events. He loved kayaking, hiking, bird watching, skiing, fishing, and the New York Yankees
Bill is survived by his longtime companion, Chrysan Codding, of St. James, NY; his brother, Michael (Cindy) Conron, of Pennsylvania; his sister, Maureen Conron, of Norwich; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Robert, Timothy, and Marie.
A Mass of Christian Burial for William will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at St. Paul’s Church, where the Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 24, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. The wearing of facial coverings is required.
