Rita J. Yeska


Rita J. Yeska, 81, of Memory Lane, Sherburne, NY, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
She was born on December 25, 1939 in Sherburne, a daughter of Hubert and Mildred Eckert Foster and was a graduate of Sherburne schools. She was married to John Murray on March 22, 1958. She married Charles Yeska on November 3, 1962 who predeceased her on January 3, 2003. Rita had worked for Chenango Memorial Hospital, The Chenango & Unadilla Telephone Company, and the Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals for over 36 years until retiring in 2001.
Rita was a member of the United Church of Christ in Sherburne. She was a former Boy Scout den mother and a 4-H member. She enjoyed crafting and ceramics.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Laurie Murray of Sherburne; grandchildren, Shawn (Lynette) Murray; Derrick Murray; Cori Lee Yeska; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Isabella, Shawn and Martin, Wyatt James and Maverick Ace Mae. She was predeceased by a son, Chuck Yeska in 2001; a son Kerry Murray in 2021 and sisters, Sally Bice, Pat Quackenbush and Rosemary Williams.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Interment will be private in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
