It is with the saddest of hearts that I have to inform you of the passing of my husband, and friend Hugh Franklin (Bill) Cody, Sr on August 29, 2021. Hugh was born in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Hugh D. Cody and Louise (Mosley) Cody. Shortly after his birth Hugh’s mother passed away leaving his father heartbroken. Hugh went on to be raised by his maternal grandparents. He grew up to be a fine young man thanks to his grandparents. Hugh served in the military during the Vietnam Conflict and was primarily stationed out of Berlin, Germany. Hugh’s proudest military memory was being able to stand honor guard for President John F. Kennedy.
Hugh is survived by his wife Nancy Cody, and his children Hugh (Sonny) Cody Jr., and Angela Hannon. He is also survived by his stepchildren Katherine and James Forrester, James Wentworth, and Steven and Li Wentworth. Hugh is also survived by his grandchildren David (Wes) Cody, Jonathan (Cody) Hannon, Jamie Bryant, Chad Cody, Morgan Forrester, Lawson Forrester, and Emily Wentworth, and his great grandchildren, Faith, Shane, Brayden, Jackson, Leland and Olivia. Also surviving Hugh are his lifelong friends the Pressley Family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
